Arsenal Striker Aubameyang Sends Strong Message To Man City Ahead Of Premier League Return

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is counting on Arsenal’s “power and freshness” serving them well when the Gunners go to Manchester City on the Premier League’s re-opening night.

Arsenal will face City at the Etihad Stadium on June 17 as top-flight football returns amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the Gunners seeking a positive result as they look to get back in touch with the Premier League’s top four.

City will go into the game knowing that a defeat could help lead to them losing their status as champions to Liverpool the following weekend, and although Aubameyang isn’t sure whether or not the lack of fans at the Etihad will be an advantage for the visitors, he is confident Arsenal will be ready.

“I don’t know it it will be harder or easier [behind closed doors],” Aubameyang told comedian Matt Lucas during the club’s ‘Arsenal Together’ charity fundraising event.

“But the only thing for sure I know is that they are a great team and it will be hard for sure, we don’t expect it to be easier because of no fans in the stadium.

“We will try our best and the positive thing that I saw is that all the players in our team are in shape and are feeling well, with a lot of power and a lot of freshness.

“They want to play, everybody is just waiting for the referee to whistle.”
