Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Marseille over a possible deal for out-of-favour French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.
The 21-year-old France international star has not featured for Mikel Arteta’s side since June owing to disciplinary problems, and as a result has been persistently rumoured with a departure from the Emirates Stadium over the summer.
Furthermore, with the North London club supposedly intent on securing the services of Houssem Aouar before the deadline, Guendouzi’s long-term future at the Gunners looks bleak.
According to Telefoot, Mikel Arteta’s side and Marseille are locked in talks over a deal for Guendouzi, who is yet to take to the pitch in the 2020-21 season.
However, the French outlet report that the Gunners are hoping to ship out the playmaker permanently, whereas Marseille would prefer to take Guendouzi on a loan deal.
The France U-21 international has amassed 82 games for the Gunners since arriving from Lorient in 2018 – founding back of the net one goal – and has just under two years left to run on his current contract with the Gunners.
Arsenal yet to make any big name signing this summer and Aouar could be the only one who could help them to increase their attacking potential as only Saliba and Gabriel have arrive from Ligue 1 clubs.
