Arsenal in pole position to sign 24-year-old Argentine playmaker

Norwich City star Emiliano Buendia has welcomed interest from the London giants and is keen to push for a move to Arsenal in the winter transfer window, according to reports. The 24-year-old attacker is one of Arsenal’s top targets this month with the Spanish manager keen to strengthen his creative options in midfield.

The Gunners have reportedly held initial negotiations with Emiliano’s agent, while Norwich have set a £40m asking price. Reports on Monday claimed that Arsenal are looking to reduce Norwich’s valuation with a player-plus-cash deal and are willing to offer either Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson on loan as part of the move.

Norwich are adamant that Buendia will not be sold this month but according to CBS Sports, the attacker is set to tell the Championship club that he is set to join Arsenal if they make a formal approach. The report claims that Gunners have only held ‘informal talks’ about a possible move so far.

Speaking at the weekend, Norwich manager Daniel Farke insisted that he was not considering the prospect of the Argentine attacker leaving before the end of the campaign. ‘Emi is a key player for us, an important member of the group, and he is totally committed to us,’ said Farke.

‘He is our player and will continue to be our player. He is on a long-term contract so we keep him. Everyone knows his qualities I don’t expect interest just because he scored a wondergoal today. People know what he can do.’
