DEAL ONGOING: Arsenal started negotiations with €25m-rated French midfielder

Marseille manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed interest from PL teams in a possible transfer deal for Morgan Sanson. The French midfielder has caught the eye in Ligue 1, with the report naming Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham United and Aston Villa as being among his suitors.

Their report also quotes Andre as discussing the prospect of a deal, with the Portuguese boss hinting very strongly that the £20m-rated midfielder could leave the club. “We’ll see. The transfer window is open, Sanson is a player who is highly rated,” Villas-Boas said.

“Officially, we have not received any offers, unless it happened during the match. He is a boy who interests English teams because of his characteristics, and it is possible that something could happen.” This will no doubt be of interest to Gunners fans, with Arsenal in need of more quality in midfield after a difficult start to the campaign.

Arsenal stay 11th in the PL table and could benefit from someone with a bit more creativity and quality on the ball in their squad. Morgan would fit the bill in that respect, and he could end up being an absolute bargain as he’s valued at just £20m is accurate.

Sanson has scored 25 goals and made 22 assists in 156 games for the Olympians. The Frenchman has 18 months left on his current deal with Marseille. Gunners could go all out to sign him as Mesut Ozil is set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce. Technical director Edu has insisted Arsenal need to sign a creative midfielder.
