Arsenal plotting move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender

Arsenal have allegedly opened discussions to land Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka ahead of the summer transfer market.

N’Dicka has caught the Gunners’ attention with a series of outstanding displays on the left side of a back-three in the Bundesliga this term, with Arteta considering reverting to the 3-4-3 system that helped win them the FA Cup last season.

The Spaniard has made it clear he is keen to add a commanding centre-half to his ranks and Arsenal have drawn up a shortlist of potential options, with N’Dicka emerging as a serious target.

According to The Daily Express, discussions between Arsenal and N’Dicka’s agent are well underway and an agreement could be reached for a sum as little as £19 million ahead of the 2021/22 term.

The report claims Arsenal are in driving seat to land the sought-after Frenchman, with the club short of options at centre-half after Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos left for Schalke and Olympiakos respectively last summer.

Calum Chambers is also considered an out-of-favour defender and looks set to make way after his seventh year at Arsenal.

Arsenal already have a good relationship with N’Dicka’s entourage, Michael N’Cho Ibou, who was at the heart of talks two years ago when he helped broker Nicolas Pepe’s £72m move from Lille to north London.

He also represents Yves Bissouma, another player firmly on the club’s radar following an outstanding campaign with Premier League rivals Brighton.

The Gunners have been admirers of Yves for some time and have asked to be kept informed about any developments regarding the midfielder’s future.
