Three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid Lucas Vazquez offered to Arsenal

Some players invest their maximum in the club but fail to build an individual image out of it. Spanish winger Lucas Vazquez is such a player. He is a Madridista from the beginning of his career. The winger joined the academy of Los Blancos in 2007.

He is a key element in the attacking game of Real Madrid but always stayed behind the curtain of glory. He joined the senior squad in 2015 and his contract ends this summer in Madrid. The player is expected to leave Madrid this summer as a free agent.

Zidane’s secret weapon
Lucas Vasquez was widely used as a major prospect for Madrid under Zinedine Zidane’s first spell. He was a part of Zidane’s rotation policy and won almost all major titles under the Frenchmen. Real Madrid allotted him the role of a winger in the early stages of his career.

Although, Lucas Vasquez wasn’t considered as a starter in the Spanish capital and mostly helped the team to increase the pace of play from the bench. The second spell of Zidane posted Vasquez to the role of wing-back and that helped the player to unleash his actual potential.

The right-wing-back role was ruled by Dani Carvajal in Real Madrid. The fitness issues of the player requested a part-time service to Vasquez in the backline. He was perfect with the role and he gave his maximum to the team.

Lucas Vasquez is hardworking like Carvajal and can control the play from box to box. Also, he is an attacking threat for the opposition and can influence the scoring of the team. In the defensive line, he can counter the runs with great consciousness on the ball.

The 29-year-old winger completed 200 appearances for the senior team and he featured 31 games under Zidane this season. Also, he got 2 goals and assists from the backline. (Transfermarkt)

Lucas Vazquez: Summer switch to North London
According to the latest reports from Spain, Lucas Vasquez has got no future in Madrid. The player rejected a contract renewal in Spain and possibly that will take him out of La Liga. (The Mirror)

Premier League is considered as the possible destination for the Spaniard. North London sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are the interested parties for Vasquez according to rumors.

Meanwhile, Vasquez is ideal for the pace of the Premier League. Also, he is quicker with the ball which is a requirement for the top sides of England. Mikel Arteta can use the player as a replacement for Cedric or Bellerin in the team.

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur already had a couple of businesses with Madrid last year. The incomings Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon influenced the strategy of Spurs and made an impact under the Portuguese boss.

Signing Vasquez this summer would add more power to the wings of Spurs and can improve the creative play behind the attacking line. Also, Vasquez can claim more playing minutes in England as the competition momentum is different there. Although, the summer deal for Vasquez won’t favor Madrid’s financial outlook and the team needs to compensate for the vacancy with a more reliable option.
