‘You never know’ – Arteta seemingly open to taking PSG job one day as he admits his ‘love’ for Paris

Mikel Arteta has revealed his ‘love’ for Paris and suggested he would be open to the possibility of managing former club Paris Saint-Germain in the future.

Arteta is currently in his first senior managerial position at Arsenal after taking charge of the north London side last season, guiding the Gunners to FA Cup success in 2019/20 before a difficult first full season in charge this term.

Arsenal currently sit 10th in the Premier League following a disappointing domestic campaign, though have progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League where they will meet Slavia Prague in the last eight.

Arteta was appointed as manager at the Emirates following a successful period as assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, returning to the club where he spent the final five seasons of his playing career, winning two FA Cups and becoming club captain.

The Spaniard has now discussed his fond memories of another former side and his ‘love’ for Paris, suggesting he would be open to the possibility of returning to PSG as manager when his time with Arsenal comes to an end.

“I love Paris, I love Paris,” Arteta told BeIN Sports.

”I have very good memories from over there. It was my first club as a professional. The club is always in my heart.

“You never know but I have a lot of work to do [at Arsenal].”
