Arsenal in three-way battle for£17m RB Salzburg hitman

Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are all reportedly chasing the transfer of RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka.

The in-form 22-year-old attacker is starting to look like a world-class talent after a brilliant recent scoring record, with a whopping 23 goals in just 19 league matches this season.

In total, Daka has 30 goals in 32 games in all competitions this season and it’s a little surprise the Daily Star are linking the likes of the Reds, the Red Devils and the Gunners international as a possible alternative to Erling Haaland.

All three sides could do with strengthening up front in the summer, with Liverpool struggling after a dip in form from the Brazil international Roberto Firmino in particular.

United have also lacked goals as the likes of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial have not been as prolific as last term, with midfielder Bruno Fernandes their main source of goals this season.

Arsenal, meantime, could also do with signing Patson as club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang no longer looks at his best, while the French star Alexandre Lacazette has never been the most prolific player either.

The Daily Star add that clubs may have to move quickly for Patson as his £17m price tag is likely to rise if he maintains his eye-catching scoring form.
